Dr Craig Bird is one of Adelaide’s most experienced small animal veterinarians, with a career spanning over four decades. He is also a founding partner at myVet.
Known for his calm, compassionate nature and extensive clinical knowledge, Craig has built long-standing relationships with generations of pet owners—and their much-loved animals.
Guided by a strong sense of fairness, integrity, and genuine love for animals, Craig’s thoughtful approach and steady presence provide comfort and confidence, whether treating a cherished family pet or supporting a nervous new owner.
He has particular interests in orthopaedic surgery, cryosurgery, and integrative medicine, and is accredited by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society as a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist.
Outside of veterinary work, Craig is usually accompanied by Otis, his energetic and affectionate German Shorthaired Pointer. Though Otis mostly keeps behind the scenes, he has a big presence at the clinic—charming staff with his personality and occasionally stealing the spotlight with his antics. Otis’s boundless energy and love of life bring a welcomed spark to the workday and make him a cherished member of the myVet team.
